Courage Campaign fights to hold our political leaders and most powerful corporations accountable to the will of the people.
While Californians are doing their part to reduce their water consumption, Wal-Mart is out there making a huge profit off of the little water the state has left. With a recent report showing that California only has enough water to last the state one more year, it is time for corporations to stop bottling its water before it's too late.
The Los Angeles Times just exposed that California farmers are using oil-contaminated wastewater to grow a portion of our nation’s crops. And the oil industry is making MILLIONS of dollars in profits in return. Meanwhile, the American public has been eating potentially toxic crops. We have to stop this NOW before it’s too late!
California is facing a drought of historic proportions and while individuals are being forced to reduce their water usage, Nestlé is bottling the scarce resource straight from the heart of California’s drought and selling it for profit. With a recent report showing that California only has enough water to last the state one more year, we must put an end to this madness at Nestlé before it’s too late. Join us!
New reports show that Gov. Brown's appointed regulators have been allowing the oil industry to inject TOXIC wastewater into CA’s fragile water supply. In response, Courage Campaign and over 150 organizations filed a legal petition with the state to demand an immediate halt on fracking, which requires Governor Brown’s response by March 26th. Join us and become a co-signer of our emergency legal petition to the governor!
Homecare workers have waited 76 years to receive the federal labor protections that most workers take for granted. Last year, CA passed a budget to allow homecare workers to receive overtime pay. However, the state has since delayed its implementation. Join us to stand with homecare workers and demand our state leaders grant them the overtime pay they were promised. These are some of the hardest working Californians in some of the most challenging jobs around. They deserve every penny.
Nothing is more vital to rebuilding a thriving economy in California than access to affordable higher education. Our state's investment in higher education was central to building the 8th largest economy in the world, but today, our visionary higher education system -- revered by generations of Californians -- is on the brink of extinction. Join us to call on Gov. Brown to stop the downward spiral, honor his father’s legacy, and articulate a renewed vision for higher education in California.
Comcast -- one of the nation's largest telecomm companies -- wants to merge with Time Warner cable. If successful, Comcast will gain unprecedented power over our country’s cable and internet market -- resulting in higher prices, fewer choices, worse customer service and control over the information we read, watch, and hear. We must urge the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) and CA Attorney General Kamala Harris to block this disastrous merger! JOIN US!
Alabama just became the 37th marriage equality state. BUT in flagrant defiance of federal law, Chief Justice Moore ordered county judges to illegally deny marriage licenses to same-sex couples, and many complied. Join us to demand that ALL couples have the right to marry in Alabama!
The largest rally against fracking in California history is coming up on February 7th: The March for Real Climate Leadership.
