Steve Ybarra will cast his superdelegate vote to the candidate that pays $20 million for a voter registration drive targeted at eligible Mexican American voters whom he believes will be the key to winning the Whitehouse.

Yes he is crazy to go on local Sacramento television with the unusual offer. But he is right about the need for the Democratic Party to spend a considerable amount of money for a growing voter constituency that Sen. John McCain will surely target, given his liberal position on immigration reform. Check out television footage here.

Still there is no possible way cash-strapped Sen. Hillary Clinton will cough up that kind of dough and Sen. Barack Obama thus far has refused to pay the normal street money many local leaders expect from candidates campaigning there, which is much cheaper than the modest $20 million Ybarra requests.

I love it, only in California.
