After helping Courage Campaign roll out our latest Yacht Party ad, Arianna Huffington wants to talk to you on Wednesday about her new book, "Right is Wrong: How the Lunatic Fringe Hijacked America, Shredded the Constitution and Made Us All Less Safe". This is an awesome new edition of our Courage Campaign Conversations that came to life last month with Secretary of State Debra Bowen's call and will continue strong this Wednesday from 6pm-7pm. Arianna Huffington doesn't need my help though, so I'll let her invite you properly herself:
On Wednesday, May 14, from 6-7 p.m. PT, I will be joining Rick Jacobs for a "Courage Campaign Conversation" conference call to talk about my new book, "Right is Wrong: How the Lunatic Fringe Hijacked America, Shredded the Constitution and Made Us All Less Safe".
As we count down the final days of the Bush Administration, there's a lot to talk about, including Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, the Iraq war, our sputtering economy, and President Bush's systematic destruction of our democracy.
And, perhaps most importantly, how the "maverick" John McCain of 2000 is not on the ballot in 2008 -- replaced by a pandering right-winger so desperate to make it to the White House he's hung a "For Sale" sign on his principles and morphed into the Second Coming of George W. Bush.
I would also like to discuss the "tax cut cult" -- that small band of Republican state legislators holding California hostage to a $20 billion budget deficit while refusing to close a tax loophole for yacht and private jet owners.
We talked about these regressive Republicans yesterday in the email I sent you about "Yacht Party 2," the new TV ad released by the Courage Campaign and the California Nurses Association, just in time for Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger to announce his brutal budget cuts.
